We are now accepting applications from 30 trainee journalists registered with the National Journalists’ Association who will participate, with fifteen scholarships available, in the new two-year Master’s in Journalism and Multimedia Communication at Luiss Guido Carli. During the 2023–2025 cycle, selected students will complete journalistic internships recognized by the National Association and will be eligible to take the professional qualification exams for the National Register of Journalists. Upon completion of their studies and exams, candidates will also receive a European first-level university Master’s degree from Luiss.

Throughout the program, trainees will engage in two curricular internships totaling 4-6 months. Internationally, the program offers opportunities at the New York Times, Agence France-Presse, Associated Press, Financial Times, The Economist, Bloomberg, Vanity Fair, Washington Post, NBC, CNBC, and other prestigious outlets for students aiming for a global perspective. The program also provides 15 scholarships for full or partial tuition coverage.

In over 3,000 hours of lectures and labs, the Master’s program delivers a solid foundation in advanced techniques for writing, video editing, data visualization, digital and AI-driven journalism, and television and radio production, including live broadcasting, investigative reporting, and interviews. Throughout the program, you will be a central part of Zeta, the Master’s publication cited by leading newspapers and TV outlets.

You will study with Jeremy Caplan, Director at the CUNY School of Journalism in New York; Sree Sreenivasan, digital guru and CEO of Digimentors Group; Giuseppe Italiano, professor of computer science; Linda Bernstein, Digital Trainer at Long Island University; Elena Musi, Senior Lecturer in Communication and Media at the University of Liverpool; Francesco Marconi, computational journalism expert and professor at Columbia University, who will guide you in applying AI tools to new frontiers in digital journalism.

In the newsroom, you will learn to work with Artificial Intelligence and data, use drones for reporting, and participate in research projects with the Luiss Data Lab, the Italian Digital Media Observatory (IDMO), and partners such as Harvard University, NewsGuard, TIM, Rai, and the European Digital Media Observatory’s fact-checking network, gaining expertise in fact-checking and countering disinformation.

The Master’s program has established international connections with NBC and the New York Times. The Master’s in Journalism and Multimedia Communication offers you the opportunity to interact with new entrepreneurs and key players in journalism, like the founder of Will Media, Chora Media, and Maurizio Abet, Senior Vice President of Communication and Brand Image at Pirelli.
