Turi Munthe is the founder of Parlia e Venture Partner di North Base Media.
Born in Rome in 1976, he graduated in Arabic and History at the University of Oxford before completing his postgraduate studies at the University of New York..
Munthe started his career in publishing while writing for the British and American press. He edited the Saddam Hussein Reader and followed the Iraq war in 2003 as a journalist, before founding the Beirut Review of Books. Between 2004 and 2005 he managed the Middle East programme at RUSI, the world’s oldest defence think tank.
In 2008, Munthe founded Demotix, which became the world’s largest photojournalist network, and sold to Corbis Corp in 2012. Since 2015 he has been a Venture Partner at North Base Media VC, investing in media and media technologies and in 2019 he founded Parlia – an encyclopedia of opinions.
Munthe lives in London.
