He began his career at the Riformista writing about politics, society and customs.

In 2012 he moved to Corriere della Sera, currently has a regular column in the weekly Io Donna and presents, on the website of the newspaper in via Solferino, the program he created #Corrierelive in which he hosts the protagonists of the Italian political and cultural scene.

He presents on la7, together with David Parenzo, the daily in-depth programs In Onda and Fuori Onda and on Rai Radio Due he is the conductor of Non è un paese per giovani with Massimo Cervelli. His latest book is I Rassegnati. L’irresistibile inerzia dei quarantenni (Rizzoli).

As a speaker he deals with politics, economics, society and in general with the main current issues. Labate is often called upon as a moderator for events, corporate conventions and cultural meetings.
