Italian journalist and writer. Graduated in philosophy at the University of Naples, he collaborates with Corriere della Sera, among the others. In 2006 he published the investigative novel Gomorra. Journey into the economic empire and the dream of domination of the Camorra , in which, writing in the first person, he recounted the reality of the world that revolves around the activities of the Camorra. The success with the public in Italy and abroad and the winning of numerous awards was followed by the film adaptation in Gomorra by M. Garrone (2008), for which S. and Garrone were awarded the Hessischer Filmpreis in Frankfurt (2008). Following death threats received for the publication of the book, S. was forced to live under escort.
