I was born in Salerno on December 18, 1975, I graduated in Law with a thesis in information law in the radio and television system. I worked as a presenter in television programs.
In 2004 I joined Forza Italia and in 2006 I was elected for the first time to the Chamber of Deputies in the Campania 2 constituency. From May 2008 to November 2011 I held the position of Minister for Equal Opportunities in the Berlusconi IV government. In 2010 I was elected to the Regional Council of Campania and from June 2016 to November 2020 I was a city councilor in Naples.
In the XVIII Legislature I was elected Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies, a position I held until I was sworn in as Minister for the South and Territorial Cohesion in the Draghi government, which took place on 13 February 2021.
I have always been involved in the promotion of women’s rights and human rights. In my political and institutional activity, I have maintained a particular attention towards the South and its great potential, in the belief that being able to fully express them would allow improving the living conditions of southern citizens and would relaunch the development of the entire country.
