He started as a journalist in 1978 at Radio Radicale, where he was director for five years. He later joined the newspaper L’Indipendente, founded by Ricardo Franco Levi. After the experience of l’Indipendente he was one of the founders of Il Foglio by Giuliano Ferrara, where he remained for 3 years as editor in chief in Rome. He was then deputy director of Liberal, the weekly run by Ferdinando Adornato. He was called by the Sole 24 Ore at the newly founded Radio24 in 2000. From Milan he returns to Rome to be the director of institutional relations at Telepiù.

In 2003 he was appointed as head of the Press Office of the Senate of the Republic until 2007. In 2007, through the experience of the Magna Carta Foundation, he created L’Occidentale, the online newspaper of which he was director for 5 years.

He has worked with REDTV and Radio 3 and was a columnist for Il Tempo.

He leads the programs of Radio 1 Before tomorrow and from 2 July 2012 to 12 June 2014 Zapping, renamed by him Zapping duepuntozero, where he was then replaced by Ruggero Po. Later he always leads for Radio 1 Dovestate and from 15 September 2014 Black and white. From 5 September 2016 he resumed the conduct of Zapping still in progress.
