Giuseppe Governale is a general of the Carabinieri, former commander of ROS, currently director of DIA.

Student of the Military Academy of Modena in 1978-1980 and the School of Carabinieri from 1980 to 1982, he immediately held operational positions in Naples, Livorno and Milan, becoming Provincial Commander of Modena and Catania.

He also served in various staff positions at the General Command of the Army, at the Officers’ School and at the Defence Staff, attending the Italian “War School”.

Promoted to General in 2013 he was appointed Commander of the Legion Carabinieri della Sicilia and since 2015 Commander of the ROS, where he achieved important results in the fight against organized crime and terrorism.

Since October 2017 he is the Director of DIA
