A crime and judicial reporter, she has been writing for «la Repubblica» since 1998, where she has been an editor since 2005. Since 2013, she has lived under escort after receiving mafia threats while she was investigating organized crime in Ostia. Among the awards she has won, the Passetti Award – Reporter of the Year in 2012 and 2013, the Woman of the Year Award (2015), assigned by the mayor of Rome, the Article 21 Award (2015), the French Award (2015), the Piersanti Mattarella Award (2016), the Arrigo Benedetti Award (2017), the Falcone and Borsellino Award (2016) and the National Borsellino Award (2017). For her commitment in the fight against the mafia, President Mattarella appointed her Officer of the Italian Republic of Merit in 2016.

She has published with Emilio Radice Cocaparty (2008) and Rose al veleno, stalking (2009), is co-author of Io non taccio (2015) and author of Il mondo di sotto. Cronache della Roma criminale (2016).
