Italian journalist, politician and blogger. From 1997 to 2005 he collaborated with Radio Vaticana, first as host of Jubilaeum, then in the foreign editorial team. In 1998 he made his debut on Sat 2000 with a two-hour daily container. In 1999 he joined the editorial team of the RAI program A sua immagine: first he hosted Giubileo 2000, a weekly program on the Jubilee of 2000, then he replaced Lorena Bianchetti in 2005 as host of the program, of which he also became the author.

Among the events he has presented in the last years of his television activity, there are several World Youth Days, various meetings of the Pope and many solidarity initiatives, for associations, institutions, dioceses and religious congregations. In 2007 he hosted Telethon, a TV marathon for scientific research.

In 2015 and 2016 he returned to host his new program Today broadcast on the national channel TV2000.

In the 2008 general election he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies with the Democratic Party in the Campania 1 constituency. After the 2013 general election, in which he was not re-elected, he collaborated with the newspaper La Stampa writing personal reflections and managing the live blog linked to the live twitter broadcasts #opencamera. He currently writes about politics with analysis and commentary for the local newspapers of the Espresso Group.
