Graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law of the University of Naples, he is a full professor of “History of political doctrines” (scientific-disciplinary sector SPS/02) at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Sannio.
He obtained his first post at the University of Molise where, in 1987, he taught “Political Sociology” at the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences.
He subsequently taught “Constitutional Law” at the University of Benevento and “History of political doctrines” at the University of Trieste.
Since 1990 he has been teaching “History of Doctrines and Political Institutions” at the LUISS Graduate School of Journalism.
Also at LUISS, from 1996 until 2008 he was the holder of the chair of “State Doctrine” at the Faculty of Political Science.
Since academic year 2004/2005 he has been teaching “History of political doctrines” at the LUISS Master’s Degree in Parliamentary Disciplines.
Since July 2006 he has been the Director of the “Historical Archive of Sannio”.
In the academic years 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 he was holder of the chair of “Political Philosophy” at the Faculty of Political Science of LUISS.
From the academic year 2012-2013 he is holder of the chair of “History of political doctrines” at the Department of Political Science of LUISS Guido Carli.
