After studying at the Liceo Calasanzio in Rome, he graduated and obtained a doctorate in philosophy (with a thesis on German phenomenology) Married and with three children, he was spokesman for Francesco Rutelli, attending his press office as mayor of Rome in the nineties.
In January 2010 he founded Nomfup, a well-known blog dedicated to political communication[5], particularly in the UK and US. In October 2011, Filippo Sensi, through Nomfup, was the author of the scoop that witnessed the lies of the British Defense Minister Liam Fox on his relationship with his friend and collaborator Adam Werrity, thus provoking Fox’s resignation. He was deputy director of Europa, and contributor to Wired and Corriere della Sera.
In January 2014, after the appointment of Matteo Renzi as Secretary of the Democratic Party, Filippo Sensi was appointed Head of the PD’s press office and spokesperson for Renzi, as well as Director responsible for YouDem. After the appointment of Matteo Renzi as President of the Council of Ministers he became spokesman and head of office of the President of the Council of Ministers, maintaining this role even following the resignation of Renzi and the appointment of Paolo Gentiloni.
In the 2018 general election he was elected deputy for the Democratic Party in the multi-member constituency of Tuscany.
