Marcello Flores is a historian, specialized in the study of genocide. His main fields of interest include the history of communism, the genocide of the Armenians during the First World War and human rights. He has worked with several magazines and publishing houses. He teaches comparative history and human rights history at the University of Siena, where he is also director of the European Master in “Human Rights and Genocide Studies”. He has spent study and teaching periods in Berkeley, Cambridge, Paris, Moscow and Warsaw, where he was for two years cultural attaché at the Italian Embassy. From 2006 to 2011 he was Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Siena.
